Role:
Developing a new staff Intranet using SharePoint Online. This UX Designer role will lead user research and design key functionality for the Intranet in the run up to its launch in May 2020.
Working as a key member of an Agile project team, you will work closely with the Intranet Manager and SharePoint Developers to build and release new functionality and features which meet the needs of our colleagues and other stakeholders - as well as achieving the strategic objectives.
This will include the development of the user interface for a new staff contact directory and user journeys around top tasks and internal news and events channels.
Key responsibilities:
*Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback from a range of stakeholders
*Refine persona models and establish needs through user research and data analysis
*Develop wireframes and prototypes
*Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers and the wider project team
*Work iteratively to deliver solutions that work for our users
*Present project research to a range of stakeholders - in workshops, 121s or through digital channels
*Find creative ways to solve UX problems (eg usability, findability)
Essential skills and experience:
*Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or similar
*Strong portfolio of UX projects is essential - ideally, working on the development and build of large intranets
*Extensive experience leading concept and usability testing and gathering feedback
*Extensive experience communicating design ideas and prototypes to developers and working with them to solve problems
*Proven teamworking skills in an Agile project environment
*Good understanding of interaction design and information architecture
*Excellent communication and presentation skills
*Experience of Higher Education sector, Government Digital Service, SharePoint Online or modern Intranet UX design an advantage
