VoIP/IMS Senior Test Engineer
This role is Inside IR35
My client, a global telecoms operator is currently looking for a VoIP/IMS Test Engineer to join them on a long term contract
You will be working within the Voice Engineering team testing new IMS components and evaluating the behaviour of new CPE.
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- Detailed understanding of SIP and associated supporting protocols, including interworking with traditional PSTN services
- IMS core experience and its implementation in either a PSTN or Mobile service environment
- Ability to interpret formal engineering documentation
- Write/review detailed test specifications
- Conduct testing and produce comprehensive test reports
- Understand test life cycle and fault defect management
- Excellent communication & presentation skills
Desirable Experience:
- Routing Number Database integration/test
- Data networking competency
- Understanding and appreciation for the cellular networks and networking principles (IMS, 5G, 4G, UMTS, GSM,IMS).
- VoIP network operations
- Docsis/PacketCable
- Service performance monitoring
Responsibilities:
- Test activities in relation to new hardware being integrated into our existing Huawei IMS as part of a remediation project.
- Test new CPE types. New business and consumer eDVAs are to be tested for their compatibility with the Huawei IMS platform.
- Support for a PoC test of a new IMS solution.
- Interpret Engineering and Architecture documentation to specify test strategy and scope.
- Work with Voice Design engineers to write detailed test cases that demonstrate delivery of stated business requirements.
- Specify test case priority and plan scheduling and resourcing of test activities.
- Identify test lab requirements/modifications to support testing.
- Identify test equipment requirements to support testing.
- Conduct testing, as specified, in an efficient manner to schedule.
- Raise and manage defects including fault investigation and reporting.
- Produce regular reports, as directed, to show test progression and test case status.
- Produce test exit reports IAW IEEE standards.
