Web Designer - Contract - Rome
Square One are recruiting for a web designer to work on a 10 day contract in Rome, Italy.
Duties and responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Communication Officer, Web Management and Social Media (COM), the Evaluation Communication and Knowledge Management Officer (IOE) and in technical co-operation with the Liferay Development Team (IOE) the consultant is responsible for various duties related to the implementation of the new IOE microsite as part of the client's new Internet-facing portal.
Specifically, the consultant will:
- Update the IOE microsite website designs to be implemented based on Bootstrap and compatible with Liferay.
- Update the IOE microsite designs for a set of consistent user interface elements used for common application functions based on Bootstrap and compatible with Liferay.
- Provide HTML and CSS versions of the updated designs
- Work cooperatively with team members, key stakeholders, and vendors.
- Contribute to documentation of the site design.
- Any other web design duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Education and experience:
- A university degree in Industrial Design, Visual Communication or related fields is desired.
- Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level.
- Extensive relevant web design experience.
- Full command of English is essential.
Technical/functional competencies:
- Adobe Photoshop/Creative Suite skills
- Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
