Our client is currently seeking a talented Web Developer to join our R&D Team in Dublin to create advanced web-based interactive educational software, build proof of concepts, and support and develop tools to support and assist the content production process.
Position Responsibilities
* Solving Content Development production challenges
* Specifying and designing the development of content solutions
* Translating Content business requirements into functional specifications and development scope
* Researching the latest technologies and exploring effective ways of introducing these to improve mainstream content production
* Monitoring, performance analysis and maintenance of our production database to support cross organizational availability and performance targets.
* Developing and prototyping innovative and alternative content development strategies
* Providing support to internal external development groups involved in Content Development
* Understanding & communicating technology needs to a cross functional team
* Standardizing and documenting Content Development outputs
* Mentoring junior developers and work to embrace best practices in development
* Translating & documenting business needs into functional requirements
* Understanding killsoft's Back End and player technologies and how they work with content products
* Working with testing/QA team and business partners on test scenarios and resolving testing issues
* Consistently sharing best practices and improve processes within and across team(s)
* Mentoring junior developers
* Maintaining up-to-date and accurate standards and guidelines
* Supporting training and rollout requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
* 5 years+ experience in a hands-on development role
* 3 years+ of experience developing database driven web applications
* In depth knowledge and experience of developing in HTML5, CS3, and Javascript
* Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
* Expert knowledge of Adobe Flash
* Experience in server based Java technologies and in web-based distributed applications Excellent technical skills in software architecture and logic
* Ability to lead architectural discussions
* Proven track record of delivering usable, reliable, scalable, database driven web applications.
* Strong problem solving skills
* Ability to quickly acquire competency in new technologies in order to assess impact on content development
* Demonstrated understanding of web design standards, with an emphasis on interactivity, usability, and accessibility
* Familiarity with multimedia formats and how they are used in web-based content
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across global, cross functional teams
* Proficient in creating and documenting effective systems and work flows
* A knowledge of accessibility issues and Section 508 requirements
* Experience with responsive design
