Web/Mobile Apps Developer
Durham, NC
1 ½ years + contract
The ideal candidate will be an expert consultant with extensive web development application experience. Familiar with major website development technologies, deployment and Back End SQL Server databases. Additionally, must have experience or training with the Sitecore platform. Will be a member of the local support team, as well as part of a bigger community made up of internal and external service providers.
Initially, there will be technical development. However, over the next 6-12 months the focus will shift to consulting, requirements management and coordination with other service providers. Initial estimates are 50/50 "Development vs. Consulting/Coordination" with the shift towards 30/70 "Development vs. Consulting/Coordination" in the future.
The candidate will be expected to have or develop knowledge related to the corporate standards and guidelines for Web development (such as branding requirements, logo placement, etc.) and the broader IT initiatives such as Hosting, Application tools, and Technology standards. Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and a focus on technical consulting/validation of web applications and mobile technologies. The candidate must be able to make recommendations for best practices in these areas.
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Web development and prototyping in various technologies, such as .NET/Sitecore, PHP, JavaScript, HTML/HTML5, etc.
- Experienced in Web & Mobile Application Development & Technologies
- Superior communication skills; Person will be working with the business and various service providers.
- Experience capturing business requirements, creating specifications, and proposing technical solutions
- Plan, design and facilitate the implementation of various Web & Mobile based applications, including coordinating small to medium web development projects.
- Technical issue coordination. Coordinating/consulting with external service groups for the Web Communications Department, especially related to the Sitecore environment.
- Capturing business requirements, creating specifications, and recommending technical solutions.
- Extensive Web development Skills: .NET, Sitecore, PHP, Perl, JavaScript, XML, Web Services, CSS, HTML/HTML5, training/experience w/Sitecore platform
- Database skills: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL with a solid understanding of database concepts and structured query language.
- Web Servers/Operating systems: IIS, LAMP/WAMP/Windows & Linux Assertive
- Able to work in both an independent and team environment depending on the project and situation
- Superior organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
