Contract Javascript Developer, PHP, JavascriptDaily Rate: £
Daily Location: Sheffield
Contract Length: 4 Months with potential extensions
OVERVIEW OF ROLE I am recruiting for a client of mine who are local to Sheffield and looking to begin a really large project to migrate a large e-commerce system to a bespoke Java/Javascript platform with some legacy PHP. They offer an initial 4 month contract though on completion of the project it's very likely to lead onto other even larger projects - good potential for extension. This role will highly experience & competent developer as the development team are at the beginning of migrating systems and have limited Javascript knowledge. You therefore will have a large say as to how the front-end is architectured. Your role will involve the development of large front end web systems. You will be working closely with the product owners, technical architect and front end team.
THE SKILLS REQUIRED Excellent Javascript experience, native, vanilla without the use of libraries jQuery Knockout.js or something similar (Underscore, Backbone, Angular etc.) Some PHP/LAMP stack knowledge
DESIRABLE SKILLS Java Commercial e-commerce experience
WHY BE INTERESTED This role will require an experienced, confident Javascript developer who can pick up a range of a projects and collaborate well with talented back-end developers. My client has a strong preference for developers who bring forward ideas about development, overcoming problems and best practice. Additionally, you'll be joining this client at the beginning of a very large programme of work and there's good potential for this contract to continue on throughout the year.
