Job Title: Software Engineer (Java Development)
Location: Rome, Italy
Duration: 9 months plus Contract
Start: ASAP
Rate: 250 EUR Per day
Role Description
* Design of software components for customer Videoscape deployments based on customer and project requirements.
* Development of software components for customer Videoscape deployments.
* Testing and documenting for all developments.
* Supporting installation teams during deployment and customer acceptance testing of the developments.
Required Skills and Competencies:
* In-depth knowledge of the JAVA programming language
* In-depth knowledge of JAVA Enterprise Edition (JEE) technology
* Familiar with one or more software design and development methodologies.
* Good knowledge of REST & SOAP web services, especially implementation in a JEE application.
* Good (user) knowledge of Linux.
Basic understanding of digital video platforms:
* Encoding
* Electronic program guide
* Encryption & digital rights management
* Content delivery networks.
Familiarity with the following technologies:
* Relational databases & SQL
* SEAM 2
* JBOSS Application Server 5.x
* Hibernate
* JAVA Persistence API (JPA)
* Enterprise Service Bus (JBOSS ESB preferred)
Experience
* At least 5 years of experience in JAVA software development.
* At least 5 years of experience in JAVA Enterprise software development (Servlets, JSP, JSF, EJB).
* Familiar with the Eclipse IDE for JAVA/JEE development.
