Data Manager, Scheduling, Planning, Java, Python, Data Flows
Our client, a large broadcasting and media giant is currently recruiting a Data Manager for a 3 month initial contract based in Dunfermline (with adhoc visits to other sites). This role is starting as soon as possible.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- You will be managing small team of 5 data analysts (5). You will be responsible for allocating their day to day work load - understanding when & who needs to do what.
- Scheduling and planning
- Data Management - Ensuring data flows and processes are consistent, understanding data from a compliance and regulatory perspective and what is required
- Portfolio Management - managing multiple small projects
- Technical Skills - ideally from a programming background
- Languages used - Java and Python
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Background - Would consider candidates that have worked for a computer software consultancy
Essential Skills:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical role
- Proven ability to set and achieve quality and productivity targets/standards
- Proven project management skills
- Experience of managing direct reports, supporting development and managing performance
- Strong analytical and logic skills
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, with proven ability to communicate with clients, internal operations, and research peers
- High level of attention to detail and professional composure while tracking multiple projects under pressing deadlines with potentially shifting expectations
- Ability to understand logic, identify logic errors, and make logic recommendations
- Fully proficient in MS Office applications
Highly Desirable Skills:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business or other relevant discipline
- Proficient in design of surveys, filters, quotas and exporting data
- Demonstrate aptitude with Scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python
- An understanding of market research
