Description

An exciting opportunity for a Statistical Analyst/Programmer (SSAP) is available in the historic city of Luxembourg, to take part in a 4 years duration European Framework kicking off shortly.

Nature of the tasks would be:

  • Through discussions with clients and examination of written documents assist clients in clarifying their requirements and preparing specifications
  • Technical analysis of client requirements, prototyping, writing, maintaining and testing programs, producing the relevant technical documentation, assisting the support group with training the users of the system, assisting with evaluating and testing products delivered by external system suppliers, participation in meetings with the users
  • Implement applications and statistical production chains in line with user requirements, business cases and functional specifications. Ensure implementations are done in line with the CSPA and GSBPM methodological standards
  • Assist and coach the statistical analyst-programmers and provide internal technical trainings to new-comers
  • Ensure overall consistency of the developments through regular contacts with the other technical groups and the project managers
  • Ensure the principles of the selected project methodology for implementations (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) are respected and the methodology is properly implemented and followed by the development groups
  • Ensure the technical expert role in meetings (internal or external to the client), monitor the market concerning technologies used within the common software used by the client and advise on implementation choices

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant studies and experience in IT, including 3 years as an analyst/programmer
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in statistics
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in
    • web services and Java
    • software development methodologies in collaborative environments (RUP, AGILE, SCRUM) and software integration
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in
    • multiclient and multinational environments
    • Unix/Linux
  • Minimum 3 months with Case Tools

Knowledge and skills:

  • Expertise (3 years minimum professional experience) in at least two of the statistical and database technologies listed below:
    • Oracle RDB, Oracle RDBMS
    • Oracle Express/Oracle OLAP
    • FAME/MarketMap Analytic Platform or other time-oriented/object-oriented information System
    • Specialised software in statistical and econometric analysis (SAS, R-programming language, MATLAB, Stata, Eviews, etc.)
