IT OPS Engineer

For our teams we are looking for creative, passionate IT engineers for more than one year the Leeuwarden. The department is responsible for the development and maintenance of all applications with regard to document composition, print management, scanning/data capture and archiving. We are working with state of the art software packages from Ricoh and EMC2.

As part of the team you will have a crucial role in managing high volume printing of different types of documents (statements, mortgages letters) for the customers of the company. You will be responsible for developing and supporting applications/tools and for 7*24 availability. You will contribute to the team's strategy of rolling upgrades and maintaining performance, availability, monitoring, security and Continuous Delivery pipeline. Together with other Ops and Dev Engineers in your team you will work according to the Scrum methodology.

With experience of Management you are specialized in Output Management and the role it plays in the relationship with the customer. Knowledge and experience of the following are expected: Advanced Function Presentation (AFP), Portable Document Format (PDF), event based/Batch Printing of Documents, Logg4All, Jenkins, Maven, GIT, Java eg SpringBatch.

Your main tasks will be:

All OPS activities with respect to the Print Management software (currently PureBasic) and the Tracing of events in the Document Management chain. You advise and possibly start up migration of the development pipeline of Pure Basic software towards a Java architecture. You are participating in the further growth and implementation of Continuous Delivery tooling.

You actively participate in the Scrum process and in Continuous Delivery Engineering Practices. You will play a positive role with your DevOps team growing the experience and knowledge within your team.

As an IT OPS Engineer at Management department you and 6 other enthusiastic professional colleagues will work together in a DevOps team in Leeuwarden (The Netherlands). Delivering a generic service, it's important that you are proactive and be focused on delivering a continuously improvement of the domestic Dutch Customer Experience.

Technical Role Requirements

Completed a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical IT study

Knowledge of and experience with:

(preferably AFP Knowledge);

  • Working according to the Agile/Scrum method as well as with the DevOps method and ITIL;
  • Linux environments such as Red Hat;
  • Continuous Delivery tooling; eg Jenkins, GIT;
  • Experience with setting up Chain Monitoring environment;
  • RPD or a similar package is a pre.

Also, you are fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and in writing.
