Amazing opportunity for a talented Software Developer with strong all round technical skills to join the world's top provider of big data, insight and analytical software.This is a long term contract role to start ASAP in central Manchester.
Working in team of developers, this role will be responsible for developing new analytic processing code and services that deliver data to front end applications. The project is based on a big data platform with Hadoop and Scala.
You'll work mainly on Linux with a variety of languages that mainly include Scala, Java, Python and shell scripting. Other tools you'll use include Docker, TeamCity, Jira, Git and behave.
The role is based in Manchester city centre, with easy commuting links.
Experience required:
Solid skills in the JVM stack (one of Scala, Clojure, Java)
Experience of big data - Hadoop / Spark
Experience with core java libraries and open source projects
Comfortable with modern development practices - TDD / BDD, Continuous Delivery
Experience with Akka, sbt, cucumber ./ behave
Thorough understanding of Agile / SCRUM
