Senior Java 8 Engineer
6 month Contract
£/day depending on experience
Our client are revolutionising product placement for the digital era by developing bespoke technology and services that can digitally integrate brands into any content at scale and with total accountability. They offer an informal, friendly working environment, flexible working arrangements and some interesting problems to solve around distributed systems.
They are currently looking for hands on Senior Java Software Engineers who ideally recognise that technology moves and have the ability to pick up news tools as the landscape changes. Breadth and depth of experience in delivery software is something that really appeals to them.
You will be involved in the greenfield development of their platform and marketplace including it's corresponding APi's. The product is built using modular, micro-services architecture using Docker and Mesos. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies such as Java8, AWS, NoSQL, Elastic Search and Restful webservices. The team follow agile/lean development practices, their developers use TDD frequently to ensure code quality, they like to avoid over-engineering and pair program on tougher tasks. They're looking for people who can ascertain what's happening, what's needed, and figure out how they fit in.
Requirements
- Java8, TDD, Messaging, Refactoring
- Micro services, Docker, Mesos
- Web Applications and ReST Web Services
- Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Automation
- Experience in Cloud based web services (AWS, EC2, GAE etc), Docker or Ansible would also be beneficial
