Python DevOps Engineer
McGregor Boyall has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Python Engineer with experience in a DevOps team to join a growing financial services organization at the forefront of technology innovation on an initial six month contract in their state of the art offices in Glasgow. This institution is renowned worldwide and known in the local market for their extremely high calibre of technical teams.
You will join a team of specialists who are responsible for shaping and managing all tools, systems and processes used across the full software development life cycle by all of the business' 12,000+ developers globally.
You will be working to modernize the SDLC platform to enable deployment automation to private and public cloud endpoints. You will liaise with the development community to encourage use of best practices as well as building and maintaining these tools.
These tools are primarily built in Python, however the position is also open to candidates who have experience within other programming languages such as Java, C# and C++.
This position has been deemed as falling Inside IR35 regulations.
Experience Required:
- Application development experience in Python is preferred
- However the position is also open to those with a development background in languages such as Java, C# or C++
- Experience developing tools for build automation, version control (Bitbucket, Github), issue tracking (Jira), continuous integration (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Github Actions), automated testing, or deployment automation
- Experience using Docker and Kubernetes to realize large-scale software distribution
- Experience integrating development and deployment tools with Azure or AWS.
