Scala & Java Developer (E-Trading) - Contract
London (blend of both office and remote working)
Our client a leading global financial markets and commodities bank is seeking the skills of multiple, talented Scala & Java Engineers to join its Equity Derivatives technology division.
The chosen Software Engineers will work with closely with its EMEA trading desk and Quant strategists to design, develop and operate technology platforms to support its Exchange Traded Products.
This role is very hands-on and requires continuous delivery to support the clients business which operates across many global markets.
Responsibilities
- Employment of Java & Scala to build and enhance the issuance, product life cycle and market making systems
- Working directly with Quants, IT teams and global trading to advance the platform and is different businesses
- Be involved in the full software development life cycle from discussing and agreeing requirements, formulating designs developing and deploying the changes.
- Identification & communication of issues/risks to the manager
Criteria
- Proven experience in Java and Scala
- Strong knowledge of derivatives and product life cycle: corporate actions, dividend handling, redemption processing
- Proven experience working in a Front Office environment
- Experience Developing system for automated market making and/or algo trading in high volume markets: equities, FX, liquid rates, etc
- Strong knowledge of KDB or other time series data analysis systems
- Hands on experience of C# WPF GUI and/or Java Swing GUI development
- OS level debugging/performance tuning
