UI Javascript / Banking / Contract / Northampton / £380-£420pdMy client a well respect investment bank firm based in Northampton is looking for a couple of strong UI Javascript Developers to join their growing team based in Northmapton.
What the role will entail:
These UI Developers are responsible for building and maintaining the clients customer facing applications. These range from high quality, single page web apps using JavaScript to static template development for CMS and secure sites.
Working with the latest web technologies and development best practices, using both agile and waterfall methodologies, the successful candidate will need to fulfill the following functions and responsibilities:
- Assist in the generation of estimates for project proposals and programming tasks.
- Assist with gathering of specifications as needed.
- Develop high quality code from current designs and wireframes following appropriate coding standards.
- Participate in design inspections and code walk-through reviews as appropriate.
- Assist in providing development documentation, as well as testing suggestions for the quality analysts.
- Keep management informed of task progress, issues, etc. throughout the development process.
- Perform maintenance and support activities as necessary.
- Support UX and design in early stages of project cycle
- Working within the constraints of older applications, supporting older browsers and development techniques
- Manage own task load.
As a developer you will be having interactions with:
- Product owners, business analysts, user experience specialists and designers to determine what the work is Quality assurance team
- Java Back End developers defining interfaces and building features
Knowledge and skills
- JavaScript development knowledge - specifically OO style JavaScript and Ajax interaction patterns.
- Experience of JavaScript toolkits, specifically backbone
- An understanding of the intricacies and of cross-browser development.
- Experience of JSON and REST APIs.
- Excellent knowledge of CSS2 and a working knowledge of CSS3.
- Good understanding of accessibility standards
- Experience of CSS pre-processors, LESS / SASS
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Mobile app development - not essential
