Contract - 6 Months - Rate = Competitive - Buckinghamshire

One of the world's leading microelectronics companies is seeking an experienced C++ developer to work within their Software Tools team creating the tools that support world leading range of microcontrollers.

This team primarily works on the latest Integrated Development Environment (IDE) which allows customers to create, build and debug their application software on the companies devices.

The role is therefore focused around the development of the IDE user interface to support new devices and features within the IDE product on the Windows platform.

You will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of the IDE.

Job content: Working as part of the Software Tools team, key focus areas will be:

* Development of IDE based tools on a Windows Platform. This role includes the following main projects:
* Software development of new components for Eclipse supporting devices. (C++, Java)
* Software development of new components for the IDE. (.NET, C++/CLI, C#)

Primarily this candidate will be working on the debugger aspects of the Eclipse project. This involves integration with on-chip debuggers and in-circuit emulators.

Your profile:

The candidate should have a strong engineering background developing software projects for the technology marketplace. Experience of each element of the software lifecycle is needed.

The candidate must have strong C++ development skills. This will be the primary aspect of the role. Java and .net/C# would also be an advantage but not essential.

The candidate should have an interest in the development of embedded software and microcontrollers.

The software tools developed by the team target this market. The job within the tools team is varied and diverse. Candidates will have the opportunity to work on the entire lifecycle of software components from initial requirements specification, through design, implementation and test.

Mandatory skills

* Object Orientated design techniques (UML).
* Windows programming experience (C++) within an engineering environment.
* Windows development tool experience (Microsoft Visual Studio ).
* Full development lifecycle experience.

Useful skills

* Graphical user interface development experience (Both specification and implementation).
* Experience developing user interface or components on the Eclipse platform (JAVA).
* Experience developing user interface or components in .NET/C#. * Experience or interest in embedded software and microcontrollers.
* Experience or interest in debugging solutions for embedded platforms.
