Senior Microservices Engineer
Retail Banking
6 Month contract
Inside IR 35 - £600 - £700 per day
(this will be in London once things return to normal but only sporadically so you could be based anywhere in the country provided you were prepared to travel to London occasionally)
This is effectively a Tech Lead role and we are after a Java/Microservices expert:
Senior Software Engineer with proven experience delivering a Microservice Architecture, who can
* Contribute to evolving strategic direction within team and lab
* Build software in a consistent way using frameworks, patterns and proven industry practices
* Build applications which scale, are highly available, low latency and perform under load
* Manage change and deal with competing demands for delivery
* Actively work using Agile practices
* Push for continuous integration and delivery, using devops tooling and test automation
* Mentor and coach junior devs - provide feedback and help with skill progression
* Understand the full RTL and life cycle - contributing at each stage
Skills needed
* Java
* Springboot
* Maven
* GitHub Enterprise
* Jenkins/pipeline and basic admin
* JSON/SOAP/XML/XSD
* Kafka
* WMQ
* REST
* Database SQL - Structured Query Language
* Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes - sufficient to debug and deliver working code with the necessary configuration in place
* Cloud experience deploying and maintaining applications in ICP/GCP/AWS or similar
