JavaScript Developer (with Python) Contract 6-18 months.
My client a global leader in their industry is in urgent need of a talented and experienced JavaScript Developer to join them on a contract basis.
This role will require candidates that have exceptional JavaScript skills, with ideally Angular (and or Angular 2) and Python as a OO language (some flexibility of python if you are willing to up skill but you would have to demonstrate Strong skills in alternative Object Orientated language, Java C# etc). You will be setting standard of best practice and defining code patterns. Would suit a full stack developer that has Python skills or is happy to enhance and up skills.
Your main responsibilities will be to work within a distributed Agile team, liaise with Business Analysts and end users to go through the requirements & design, and working closely with their Front Office partners. You will contribute to functional & technical design. You will also be writing automated tests & deliver software in an agile environment and Build excellent relationships across technology and user communities. You will be expected to mentor less experienced team members using methods such as informal training, pair programming etc. You will help contribute to best practices for web development across the my client organisation.
Successful candidates will have experience in Python programming (if not then another strong OO languages such as Java or C#) You will have hands on experience with web technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, etc and frameworks such as Angular.js/Angular 2. You will have experience of RESTful APIs. You will have Test Driven Development practices including continual integration is desirable. You will have experience of relational databases, such as MS SQL or Oracle is not required, but are beneficial. You will have experience in successful application development in multiple technologies - we value diversity of experience and prefer people who have worked on many different types of project. It will be expected that you have Experience of Scrum/Agile methods. This is a great opportunity to work with a leading firm on interesting projects.
