Core Java Development/Monitoring Engineer - Front Office Electronic Trading - Investment bank
We are currently looking for a Java Monitoring tools developer to focus on improving our clients set of monitoring tools, such that they can eventually be handed over to their support teams. Java development and Scripting such as Python, the role is to monitor the trading platform looking at and highlighting performance issues, and operational risk. This is not a classic development role, nor a pure support role, we need someone who would dedicate themselves to understanding how the platform operates and interact with business, while at the same time applying stamina and extensive development skills to ensure the client ends up with the right alerts and dashboards. The role should transition within 6 9 months into a classic electronic trading development role or even a quant development role, in the client's joint venture with Research. Therefore it would suit someone who had worked on performance monitoring and who would like to move into Front Office e-trading development, within 6-9 months
Key skills:
- Top academic background strong degree in mathematics/physics/computer science from a leading academic institution.
- Extensive professional experience of Core Multithreaded Java and Python Scripting, ideally with significant prior application in an industrial context working on large project.
- Innovative with a start up mentality.
- Active interest in design of system architecture.
- Interest in writing clear, maintainable code .
- Excellent problem solving/debugging skills.
- Good understanding of concurrent application design.
- Previous automatic trading experience is not required, but could be positive (eg experience of order life cycle).
- You must have at least 2/3-year experience in a similar role at with an Investment Bank
