Description

Head of Open Data Platform - Central London - initial 6 month contract - up to £750 per day

Our client is looking for someone that can design build, maintain and optimise an enterprise data platform to ensure data scalability, quality and performance. You will be required to ensure that all data platform are appropriately recognised in information management and cyber security terms.

We are looking for someone that can successfully recommend and implement delivery strategies for assigned data platforms and other services across the organisation. In addition, you will be managing complex Ontology Integration projects across central government.

Essential Experience:

  • Extensive understanding of data management and data science
  • Experience leading data discovery projects and initiatives
  • Understanding of data platforms and their operations
  • Technical Services Required:
    • Microsoft Azure based solution development and delivery
    • Platform design, development and operation based on TripleStore services
    • Microsoft .NET Core based development
    • API harvesting and publishing as open data
    • Ontology solutions including OWL onotologies and schema.org
    • Taxonomy solutions (Smartlogic Ontology Manager or comparable)
    • Experience of library science solutions, ideally SKOS
    • OWL onotologies, SPARQL, RDFa, Apache Solr
  • Experience designing and delivering data services

Desirable Experience:

  • Java development experience
  • Knowledge of SHACL and editing RDF
  • Experience developing data integration solutions
  • PhD or Masters-level qualification in computer or data science, mathematics, statistics or related discipline is highly desirable but not mandatory
