Development Manager - Java, Risk, IT - Financial Services - PAYE Contract
Development Manager required by financial services client of mine to join their business during a large market risk transformation project. This is a contract position, based in London, offering a daily rate range of between £600 and £700 (inside IR35 on a PAYE basis).
This Development Lead is required to lead the development effort on a risk IT initiative which is ultimately looking at the upgrade of risk models from Span to VaR. The programme has been in full swing for 6 months + and this person will come in to lead a small team of developers on the initiative (currently 3). At this stage, the kind of things that are required are ensuring the data feeds are correct, working with quant teams to ensure that the calculations are accurate and also challenging/improving the implementation of code from developers. This person must be a leader/manager and be someone who can navigate across some complex business relationships in numerous areas.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Technical Lead within a Financial Services organisation. Not only experience managing a development team, but also have the ability to build relationships with business stakeholders.
2. Good Java skills - some hands-on coding, but the experience to challenge and review code.
3. Strong knowledge of Risk IT (Market Risk).
