Senior Java Developer - 12 month contract - Glasgow - up to £460/day PAYE (incl.)
Are you an experienced Java Developer with background working as a Senior Developer/Technical Lead as part of a busy Agile development team?
We have an immediate 12 month contract to join a major Investment Bank in Glasgow. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on coding as well as troubleshooting/analysing existing code to improve performance and design more efficient solutions.
You will be working directly with the business stakeholders across the globe to create enhance performance on existing reporting solutions as well as design and deliver new systems as required.
I am therefore keen to speak with candidates who have the following background and experience
- Proven background working as a Senior Java Developer, with a background working for Financial Services/Investments clients preferred.
- End-to-end development life cycle experience with ability to design new applications/systems and troubleshooting code
- Agile development knowledge, including BDD
- Strong technical skills covering Java, SQL, Unix, Scripting, Microservices, Spring, Ant, Maven, Git, Jenkins, Integration technology incl. MQ/SOAP/JSON/XML, OOP, Enterprise Architecture, GoF Design, etc.
- Previous experience of working as a Senior Developer/Lead Developer and coaching of junior members in the team is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Investment Banking/Asset Classes/Regulatory Reporting/Transaction Systems would be a distinct advantage
