Contract Solutions Architect - Banking - Java Based Applications - DUBLIN, IRELAND
Global IT Consulting company based in Dublin is currently undertaking a huge IT transformation programme to create a new retail bank, and requires a number of Solutions Architects to aid in this process.
The position
- The responsibility of the Solution Architect is to act as a primary contributor to Strategy/Vision of then program.
- Has accountability for the technical integrity of and scalability of complex IT solutions, ensuring design and implementation in accordance with enterprise guidelines, standards and best practice.
- Will be part of a large scale cross functional project with multiple stakeholders within our business and will facilitation skills and outwards personality to engage with the stakeholders.
- The project has significant business impact where you will have a key role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization wide projects
- Works closely with project teams on their solution designs to ensure effective translation of the solution architecture into solutions
- Architects, documents and designs solutions to complex business requirements in accordance with enterprise application and technology roadmaps, principles, standards and guidelines
- Identifies, discusses and decides on exceptions to Enterprise Architecture principles and standards during the course of solution design and development; being the design authority that defines best practice
- Acts as escalation layer for architectural issues in related projects
- Assists project leadership in designing the approach for projects, including selection of technologies, setting technical directions, estimating/planning and directing developers
Essential Skills:
- Candidates that have a demonstrable historical technical background in Java based applications
- Experience providing solutions on complex IT projects ideally within financial services, organisation such as a retail banks, insurance companies, investment banks etc. However candidates with experience working within other industry sectors such as pharmaceutical and telco would also be considered
- Extensive experience in multiple IT areas and +5 years of relevant experience as solution architect preferably from the financial services (Banking) or other large enterprise organization
- Solid experience working with application development teams.
- Good understanding of integration design patterns & best practices
- Candidate should as individual have a well-developed business sense and can understand how a particular solution fits into the overall needs a company has.
- Solves complex challenges based on accurate identification of underlying factors/causes and is aware of the impact of proposed solutions outside own immediate area.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Outgoing personality with an international mind-set able to work with people across cultures and hierarchies.
