Description

For a 6 months project at our banking clients' site in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced

German Speaking 2nd Level Supporter - Java/Mainframe (3702)

You will act as a 1st and/or 2nd line incident analyst and provide general and technical expertise to investigate, diagnose and apply workarounds and standard solutions to incidents arising primarily (but not exclusively) within your application domain area. The role includes on call (Pikett) duties. You will work in a virtual globaly distributed team and stakeholders across different divisions and levels.

Your qualifications:
  • Good understanding & experience working in payments environment of a global acting bank
  • Experience in IT Process Management
  • Experience in IT Service Operation
  • Software management/administration certification (e.g. ITIL)
  • Good hands-on experience with JAVA Enterprise, Linux/Unix, Oracle databases, SQL, MQ, Oracle SOA Suite and Mainframe (PL1, DB2, IMS, CICS)
  • Good analytical skills and problem solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good German and fluent English
  • Working according to industry best practice standards (1st/2nd level and ITIL based) is a plus


About the role:
  • Assess all available incident details to get a good understanding of the incident
  • Collect further information from end-users/customer if necessary
  • Check with 1st line to clarify questions about the content of the incident record or the classification
  • Diagnose what the incident could be triggered by
  • Verify the result of the initial support by consulting the Knowledge DB
  • Check if further information gathering and / or different parameters are providing a match in the Knowledge DB
  • Escalate incident to 3rd line of support if no workaround / solution can be found
  • Contributes to the event, availability, capacity management process by providing technical expertise
  • Supports the continual improvement processes in incident, problem access, request fulfillment and knowledge management
  • Contributes to the knowledge transfer within team (1st and 2nd level tasks) by identifying, packaging and implementing solutions for routine tasks
  • Contributes to the knowledge transfer 3rd to 1st/2nd level by deepening knowledge and expertise in the application domain area in working together with the respective AD function
