Java/Scala - Contract - 6 months - London (central near Euston)
One of the UK's best known travel companies based near to Euston station in central London need to hire a contract Java/Scala Java developer - initially for 6 months followed by extensions.
Essential Skills
- Strong core Java experience (Java 8 is desired) with good understanding of OOP, FP concepts & various design patterns.
- Scala & Akka experience is desired, but don't worry if you don't have production experience (willingness to learn).
- Design and development of distributed, scalable and highly available systems.
- Experience with domain driven design.
- Experience with Microservices development and design patterns.
- Strong Experience in RESTful API design & web security.
- Experience with NoSQL databases
- Good understanding of different Agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, TDD, BDD, Continuous delivery.
This is a great opportunity to work on a very high profile project in a leading travel/E-commerce company. This company has one of the highest transaction websites in the UK and is a house hold brand. The daily rate for the position is up to £450 per day for an initial 6 month contract followed by extension. Location is Euston London.
